            5 DOLMAN SLEEVE
Design Analysis: The dolman has lowered under seams with exaggerated folds
under the arms, providing for a high arm lift. It is developed from the basic kimono.
(Originally a dolman was a lowered armhole with a set-in sleeve.)

            • Trace front and back kimono foundation.
            • Draw slash lines from the shoulder tips, ending 3 to 4 inches up from side waist.

           • Slash or pivot to spread underarm sleeve, giving as much lift as desired. Blend the under seam. Bold and
uneven broken lines indicate possible dolman sleeve style lines. For practice, explore other design variations.
           • Repeat for back and true under seams.
