           Circular Skirt with Handkerchief Hem
           Design Analysis
The design is a circular skirt with a handkerchief hemline (squared or pointed hemline).
Waistline may be with or without gathers.
           Pattern Plot and Manipulation
Paper Needed: Length, plus radius x 2 (2 pieces)
           Fig 1
           • For a gathered waist, increase the waistline measurement.
Suggestion: 8 inches more or less. Example: 24 inches + 8 inches = 32 inches.
           • Locate radius for full-circle in Column 5 of the Radius Chart.
           • Fold paper in half. Label corner of fold X. X–Y = radius measurement, minus 1/2 inch
for waistline seam. Mark Y on fold.
           • Circle Tool—Draw a circle at the waist only.
           • Repeat for back skirt.
           • To adjust front and back waist, see Figure 2.
           • Cut the waistline from pattern.
           Fig 2
           • Unfold patterns. Draw the grainline and complete for a test fit.
