26 Governing Council The 26th Governing Council (GC) meeting of NIMI was held on December
th
10, 2024, in Delhi, under the chairmanship of Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, IAS,
(GC) meeting Secretary, MSDE. The meeting focused on key operational, financial, and
strategic initiatives. Key approvals were accorded for the NIMI annual report
and audited accounts for the financial year 2023 – 2024, Revised estimate
(RE) for the financial year 2024 – 2025, and Budget Estimate (BE) for the
financial year 2025-26. The Enhancement of the delegation of powers for
the Executive Director, NIMI was also approved. Further approvals included
the execution of projects under various schemes/initiatives run by Ministries/
Departments/PSUs of Central and State Governments and other stakeholders
(SSCs, Skill Universities, Private bodies, etc.), as well as the engagement of
consultants (on contract) at different levels.

NIMI Expands to Lucknow

December 18, 2024: The National Instructional
Media Institute (NIMI), under the Ministry
of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
(MSDE), has expanded its presence with the
virtual inauguration of its new Extension
Centre in Lucknow. This development marks
a significant step in strengthening the skill
development landscape in Uttar Pradesh.
Located on the first floor of the SCVT building
in Aliganj, the center is designed to enhance
efficiency and broaden NIMI’s reach across
the northern region. The inauguration was
presided over by the Directorate General/
Additional Secretary of the Directorate General
of Training (DGT), the Deputy Director General
(DDG), Senior State Government Officials, and
the Executive Director of NIMI, along with their
team.
