3 Rivets
Rivets are positioned on the parts of the jeans that are most likely to
be torn apart by pressure or movement and work to keep the fabric
together, extending the life of the garment. A “washer” or “disc” is
pressed or hammered onto a metal stud that come through the fabric to
create a rivet.
4 Zipper
A zipper is a slide fastener that is used to open or close parts of clothing or other
articles. It consists of a slider with a tab, facilitating the opening or closing of two
interlocking teeth or coil connected to a fabric tape strip. There are several types
of zips available, enabling the designer to select a zip that is the most suitable for
a particular garment or end-use.
5 Lining
Linings are typically useful components of a garment. The inner side of the garment
has linings to offer comfort and protection. Linings are attached to the main garment
by sewing.
6 Interlining
Interlining also called interfacing, are generally nonwoven fabrics may be
fusible or sew-on between the outer fabric and lining. Generally, interlining
is used to support and warm the fabric .It mainly affects the overall shape
of clothing. It add more structure to garment components like collars,
button plackets, waistbands, and cuffs.
7 Hook and loop fastener
This item was created by a Swiss inventor, who proposed the
brand name “Velcro” for it. This product is made of two woven
poly-amide tapes that can be pulled apart and cling together
when pressed around each other. One of the tapes is covered
in extremely tiny hooks, and the other in extremely tiny loops.
Only a small number of clothing items, such as shoes, belts,
sportswear, children’s clothing, medical textiles, etc., use it.
8 Hook and eye closure
A hook-and-eye closure is a type of clothing fastener that consists of two
parts: one has a small, blunt hook, and the other has an eye. Both parts
are sewn to the appropriate pieces of fabric. The hook is inserted into
the loop to secure the garment. Usually used in groups, hook-and-eye
closures are strong enough to withstand the forces involved in everyday
wear.
