Hot keys
Hotkeys enable quick access to the desired feature. For example, the hotkey Ctrl + S saves the piece that are
displayed in REACH PDS.
Toolbar
The toolbar displays many tools; each button is associated with a particular feature. Any feature can be activated
by a left mouse click. When the cursor moves over any tool bar option, REACH PDS displays the brief feature
information of that option.
Working area
Below the tool bar is the working area. The working area has a black background. The work area displays all the
pieces, tracings, piece information, and size information of the style that the user is currently working.
The four different user input in the REACH PDS work area are listed as given below:
Left mouse click
Activates any feature that is selected by the user. Follow the hint message displayed to carry out the task of a
particular feature.
Right mouse click
This feature works in two ways. Firstly, when any selected feature is operating, this feature will cancel the
operation. Secondly, this feature helps in selecting the pieces from a group of pieces.
Right mouse double-click
Double clicking the right mouse helps in the selection of the piece that is to be displayed in the working area. All
other pieces are not on display.
Mouse move
When you move the cursor over the working area, the status area will display the current coordinates. It also
displays the modification that would occur by left-mouse click.
Move point area
The move point area is a small pop-window of tools that used to position the coordinates of the current tools. It is
useful while designing a new pattern. It can be repositioned anywhere in the REACH PDS window.
Edit window area
It is useful for pattern modification, base pattern creation and also for making repeated marking on a pattern.
The changes that are desired in the next marked position have to enter in the fields of the window. The changes
are applied when a user makes the next mark in the working area.
Piece bar area
The Piece Bar Area is the list out all the pieces that are currently available in the storage area displays only
six pieces in REACH PDS. The other pieces are accessible using the vertical scroll bar. If any modification
are made to the piece, the corresponding piece has a blue star marked on it, indicating that piece has been
modified.
Tools and option area
This Area displays the various option, that area available for particular feature. The setting window also may
appear as a pop-up window.
Status bar area
The area displays the feature of the tool which is selected by the user, there are ten sections in the status bar
which displays the hint message, the current X and Y coordinate values, deviation of one point from another point,
the length of the curve or pattern, base size & unit of pattern etc.
