Trouble shooting in carburetor fuel system and its
components
Objectives: At the end of this lesson you shall be able to
• demonstrate Trouble shooting in carburetor fuel system and its components.
a Leakage of petrol from carburettor
1 If the float is punctured it fills with petrol and sits down in the float chamber. Therefore, the needle valve on
it is pulled down and the fuel pump continues to supply petrol, overflowing the float chamber and causing
petrol leakage.
2 High float level. Due to this, the petrol level goes above the mouth of the nozzle in the float chamber and
petrol leakage starts. For this, the petrol level in the float chamber is two mm below the mouth of the nozzle.
It should be set as much.
3 If the float chamber top cover gasket is broken, there will be petrol leakage from that place.
