SEWING TECHNOLOGY - CITS
4 Sew and check the stitch chain to see that it is neat and uniform. Turn the needle hand wheel towards you
2-3 times to get the stitch started, then use the foot pedal to keep sewing. Guide your fabric underneath the
needle, then look at the stitch once it’s long enough to see and check for quality.
• If the stitch is not uniform or is messy, double-check that you threaded the machine properly and set the
tension disks correctly.
• If you passed the threads through the wrong threading paths, you will immediately see that you are not
getting a proper chain stitch.
TASK 5: To adjust the stitch length
1 Position the needle: Turn the balance wheel so that the needle is in its highest position.
2 Loosen the stitch regulating screw: Locate the stitch regulating screw (it might be labeled as “stitch length”
or similar). Loosen this screw.
3 Set the desired length: Adjust the stitch length to your desired setting. Tighten the stitch regulating screw
once you’ve made the adjustment.
TASK 6 : Change the differential feed mechanism
1 Loosen differential feed lock nut . Move lever up for stretching as down form the gather stitch.
2 Position ‘S‘ provides a differential feed ratio of 1 : 0, 64, while it provides 1 : 1 stitching stitch.
3 Gathering stitch can be set up to a differential feed ratio of 1 : 1 : 76 and up to 1 : 2 : 9 as shown in the Fig 1.
