Checking Garment in Respect of Defects
Objectives : At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• check the garment for defects.
1 Misalignment of parts
The parts of the garment are not correctly positioned as required, resulting wrong design.
Causes :
• Wrong positioning the parts while stitching.
• Cutting not as per the design.
• Selection of wrong measurements.
• Damaged pattern.
2 Non alignment of button and button holes
The buttons are not exactly fitting in the button holes resulting change in the shape or forming wrinkles.
Causes:
• Carelessness of the operator.
• Wrong making for placing the buttons/holes.
• Wrong cutting for making the button holes.
• Make Up defects
3 Label defects
Use of defective or damaged label, wrong labels, mispositioning of the labels, absence of labels, during stitching
operation.
Causes:
• Carelessness of the operative.
• Wrong marking for positioning the labels.
• Poor maintenance of the labels during storage.
• Mixup at storage.
4 Wrong tag/sticker
Use of wrong tag or sticker on the product or package during finishing a& packing activity.
Causes:
• Mixup of tage/stitches during storage.
• Carelessness of the operative.
• Lack of formal instruction.
5 Defective accessories
Use of defective or damaged accessories such as button etc. during the stitching operation.
Causes:
• Carelessness of the operative.
• Poor quality of accessories.
