7 Keep the cold chisel tip between the stator and cover and gently tap the chisel with a hammer and separate
the stator and the end shield cover.Fig5
8 Pull off the end shield cover and rotor together parallel to the motor shaft. Fig 6

Do not touch the rotor on the stator winding while removing the rotor, it may damage the stator
winding.
9 Hold the shaft in one hand; rotate the end cover tap hit gently with a nylon mallet to remove it from rotor.

10 Remove the other end shield cover also by gently priming it out.

TASK 2: Inspect the performance of the motor
1 Remove the capacitor and test it
2 Measure the resistance between R1-R2, S1-S2 and record it.
