EXERCISE 79 : Setting the Class Path

Objectives

At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• environment Variable/ Path Setting in Java
• system Variable Setting in Java
• verify JDK installation through Command Prompt
• check the version of Java installed in your system.

Requirements

Tools/Materials
• PC/Laptop with Windows OS
• JDK Software
• Text Editor (Visual Studio/Sublime/Notepad).

Procedure

Step1: Set JAVA_HOME Environment Variable
After installing JDK 21.0.2, you may want to set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to the JDK
installation directory. This step is optional but can be useful for some development tools and applications.

• Right-click on “This PC” or “Computer” and select “Properties.
