EXERCISE 18.6: Servicing of Rotary Pump

Objectives

At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• dismantle the rotary pump
• assembling the rotor pump.
Requirements

Tools/Equipments Materials

• Trainees Tool kit - 1 No. • Gasket
• Rotory pump - 1 No. • Cotton waste
• Kerosene
• Grease

Procedure

TASK 1: Dismantle a rotary pump
• Rotor pump dismantling (Fig 1).
• Unscrew the 4 screws H M8 and washer M8.

• Remove the pump
• Remove the trundle
• Dismantle the coupling on the pump side : 2 screws M5 x 6.

It is useless to dismantle the coupling on the engine side. Motor pump reassembling should be
carried out the opposite way.

1 At first realize the Motor pump dismantling operation (see above).
2 Remove the wedge.
