           Length of rivet is selected according to the thickness of plates and just long enough to fill the hole completely and
           make the head.  Rivet joints are formed by drilling holes in plates together (grade of hole H 12).  The rivet is placed
           through the holes and the shank is either hot forged or cold forged.
