• Align the connecting rod’s small end bore and the gudgeon pin bore of the piston.
• Tap the gudgeon pin into the piston pin hole with the help of a mallet. While tapping, keep the small end hole
aligned to avoid damage to the connecting rod bush. Fit another circlip on the groove. Repeat the above
steps for all the pistons and connecting rods.
• Hold the piston ring in the ring expander and fit it in the piston groove. Ensure that the word ‘Top’ stamped on
the ring faces upward. Fit all the rings to the pistons. (Fig 3)
• Place the upper and lower bearing shells in all the connecting rods and caps and keep them in proper order
for reassembling purpose.
