           Type A & B

           •  Draw the cylinder of dia 12 mm, 60 long.
           •  Draw taper of 1:50 over the length 60 mm for type A mark surface finish N6 and N7 for type B.
           •  Draw the pin as above.
           •  Draw the split along the centre line.
           •  Mark surface finish as N7.  (Fig 9)

           Exercise 8.45
           Details of cotter and sleeve joint is given in work book sheet.  Draw the details as per instructions given in the
           sheet.  For assembly follow the procedure given below.
           •  Draw the enlarged shafts butting each other.
           •  Draw the sleeve over it.
           •  Mark the cotter holes from the end of the sleeve.
           •  Draw the cotter with mean width on the centre line of the shaft.

           •  Mark the taper end and the length.
           •  Mark the ends.
           •  Draw the visible lines after section.
           •  Give the required dimensions.

           •  Project for plan and side and complete the drawing.
           •  Prepare bill of material list.
           Exercise 8.46
           Details of gib and cotter joint for square bar is given in the work book.  Draw the details as per the note given in
           the work book sheet and follow the steps given for assembly.
           •  Draw the fork as per the dimension.
           •  Locate the strip in the fork.
           •  Insert the cotter and align the gib on taper sides of the cotter.
           •  Note that both the tapers of Cotter & Gib are merged with each other.

           •  Draw the section and complete the drawing.
           •  Draw plan and complete.
           Exercise 8.47
           Details of Socket and Spigot joint  is given.  Prepare the drawing as per instructions given in work book sheet.
           Follow the steps given below for assembly drawing.
           •  Draw a horizontal centre line.
