           Lesson 46-50 (1) : Introduction Of Marker


            Objectives

           At the end of this lesson you shall be able to
           •  understand the Marker and its types used for mass production
           •  know about different marker making methods as per the fabric types
           •  gain knowledge regarding good marker & marker efficiency
           •  understand the essential precautions while making marker.


           1  Marker
           The drawn or marked pattern layout in a paper or fabric is known as marker. The marker is mainly used to save
           the time and carryout the cutting process quickly to increase the production.
           2  Different procedures of marker making
           There are two different methods usually used for marker making in the apparel industry.

           i  Manual method.
           ii  Computerized method.
           (i)  Manual method:
           It is one of the oldest, traditional and typical method used for marker making in the garments industry. In these
           processes, all pattern pieces made by pattern maker manually.
           This process needs more time, practice and experience but efficiency and accuracy are not satisfactory.
           (ii) Computerized method:
           It is one of the easiest and efficient processes of marker making. Several integrated software’s are useful to make
           a computerized marker. Just only need two minutes to make an automatic marker. The computer makes the
           marker itself according to the command given by the operator. It is more competent and useful than interactive
           marker making method.



























           3  Types of Marker
           While preparing the marker, we should consider the details like, No. of garments per lay, sizes and fabric width.
           Normally, there are two types of Markers are being used in Garment Industries. They are,
