DRESS MAKING - CITS

           Lesson 46-50 (2) : 3D Software

            Objectives

At the end of this lesson you shall be able to
           • understand the 3D software along with the uses.

           INTRODUCTION
3D Software refers to three-dimensional software used for creating garment designs. This technology allows
designers to construct and visualize clothes in a digital environment, offering several transformative impacts on
           the fashion industry.
           1.2. USES OF 3D SOFTWARE:
1.2.1 Sustainability: 3D fashion design can significantly reduce waste. Traditional fashion design often involves
creating multiple physical prototypes, leading to material waste. With 3D design, adjustments, and
literations are made digitally, eliminating the need for physical samples until later stages.

1.2.2 Efficiency and Cost-Effectiveness: Designers can quickly make changes to their designs without
producing physical samples. This speeds up the design process and reduces costs associated with
                 materials and labor.
1.2.3 Innovative Design Possibilities: 3D software enables designers to experiment with complex structures
and materials that might be difficult or impossible to manipulate physically. This opens up new avenues for
                 creativity and innovation.
1.2.4 Customization and Personalization: 3D design technology allows for easily customized garments to
fit individual body shapes and preferences. This could lead to more personalized fashion experiences
                 for consumers.
1.2.5 Realistic Visualization and Prototyping: 3D software offers highly realistic 3D garment visualization.
This allows designers to see how fabrics will drape, fit, and look on virtual models, reducing the need for
physical samples and thus contributing to sustainability.
