           7   A pair of scissors for pattern paper: These scissors are primarily suited for cutting
              paper or cardboard rather than fabric.






           8   A Sellotape / Masking Tape: This can be used to secure the pattern paper down to
              the table/working surface. It is also used for pattern alterations.






           9   Pattern Notcher: This is needed to cut an opening at the edge of the pattern to
              indicate seam allowance, ease notches, center lines and to identify front and back of
              the patterns.




           10  Straight Pin
           Straight pins are the most commonly used pin for sewing, also known as draping pins.
           It is used for:
              •  Holding the pattern to the fabric to prevent shifting during cutting.
              •  temporarily holding fabrics and materials together during stitching

              •   Draping and fittings.



           11  Pin holder / pin cushion: A pin cushion is a small, stuffed cushion, which is used to
              store pins or needles  and keep them organized.






           12  Push pins: Push pins used for pattern manipulation and transferring muslin patterns
              to paper.





           13 Awl
           An awl is a simple tool that consists of a metal shaft with a sharp point on the end. It is
           used to hole in the pattern to indicate the ending of darts, pocket, trim, and buttonhole
           placements.
